Everyone is looking to reduce expenses these days, and I get it. But with plumbing, as with pretty much everything in life, there is a time for handling the job yourself – and a time for calling in an expert.
It’s important to know your limits when it comes to handling your own plumbing projects. I’ve often been called out to take a look at “simple” plumbing jobs in Guelph, only to arrive and have to break it to someone that the job actually isn’t simple and that it’s not likely to be “fast” or “cheap”. Sometimes even small projects can be quite complicated and are often beyond the capabilities of even a handy home owner.
Yes, hiring a plumber is an expense, but when plumbing isn’t done properly, things can go badly… quickly. Then, sometimes that DIY attempt results in the need to call in a plumber for an emergency repair. Those kinds of calls are never going to save you money.
The same can be said for installing your own water treatment systems. Your home’s water is not something to take chances with.
Unless you’re a licensed plumber, don’t take it upon yourself to take on significant plumbing repairs or water treatment services in your home. Consult with an expert first, or better yet just leave it to someone who is licensed, insured, and skilled in the trade.
